Brain compatible lessons

Why should teachers make lessons brain-compatible?

The students' mind needs to be more engaged and this can happen only when we try to teach same concepts differently pertaining to the syllabus. We must allow them to play with manipulatives or do activities that will lead them to critical thinking skills and start questioning with hesitation.  Just last week in my class I was revising multiplication tables in class 4, I did not ask them to memorise the tables. Instead of even teaching them through dodging I gave the answer and asked them to write all possible factors not mentioning the word 'factor' which is of higher level for that class.  For the students to learn this way was a big discovery and the boring multiplication turned to be interesting one. Fast calculation was also taught through Nikhilam method (vedic maths) which boost up their confidence level to calculate accurately and quickly with excitement. This is an example of brain compatible lesson. If the child wants to persuade to learn more through this method she can make use of technology and learn independently.  This will not only create interest in the subject and but also include the subject in her future careers. Through brain compatibility we can help kids to move from basic to intrinsic problems with ease and handle challenging questions that comes on their way.
